🇬🇧 As Doves

In order to protect us, the LORD JESUS shows us the best course of action in this terrible world: to be prudent and walk in simplicity:

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless [simple] as doves.
Matthew 10:16 KJV

Focusing on the doves, in this study, we will understand more about this winged being, highlighting some relevant aspects for our life:

1. Of course, the beat of its wings, when they fly, attracts attention. Even in their simplicity, their actions that glorify God are remarkable. However, doves are beings that do not seek extravagant promotion. They want a simple, peaceful and quiet life. They don’t like exhibitionism like peacocks, for example.

2. They don’t like a lot of noise or confusion. The sound they crave is sweet, smooth, uncomplicated.

3. They are very cautious and observant. After examining the environment they want and making sure that this is really where they can build their family, then they try to establish their nest.

4. They establish themselves in their home and take possession of the blessing! They don’t give in to pressure easily. They insist on staying in their nest. Even with external pressures, which try to take away their tranquility, they do not give up easily.

5. Faced with these external pressures, they show concern, but they do not move from their position. They stand firm until a greater force can truly change the course of their destinies.

6. Changes don’t leave them prostrate or frustrated. They simply leave the environment of suffering, to build a new story, where they have been given an opportunity.

7. The pigeon and the dove are loyal and dedicated to each other for life. And they always return to their nest, even having flown great distances!

Finally, look at how the LORD JESUS declares Himself to His Beloved Church:

O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock [in a situation of tightness or pressure], In the secret places of the stairs [without giving yourself completely to Your Owner], Let me see thy countenance [be more intimate with Me], Let me hear thy voice [talk more with Me in the depths]; For sweet is thy voice, And thy countenance is comely.
Song of Solomon 2:14 KJV

LORD JESUS, who has received ALL Power in heaven and on earth (Matt 28:18), is pleased that you and I come, in the simplicity of a dove, to His Arms of Love, resting and talking about everything that afflicts or worries us, so that He can calm our hearts and say very sweetly and softly in the depths of our being, that we have already overcome the challenges and difficulties, because we are His peculiar, private and exclusive property!! Remember how He calls whoever is HIS: “O MY Dove”!! Certainly, before our faith in Him, in His Word, we will see the manifestation of His Power in what we need.
